The Kumon Method of Learning is the largest Mathematics and language learning system in the world with more than 4 million students in over 45 countries around the world.

In Malaysia, there are over 35,000 children enrolled at 190 centres. We play a key role in applying a world leading learning method, which truly enables children to realise their full potential faster to become sound, capable people and thus contribute to the global community.

 

Kumon was developed from a father's love. Our late founder, Mr Toru Kumon was an accomplished Mathematics teacher from Osaka, Japan. He was also a very loving father who wanted his son to perform better in school .

It was in the year 1954 that he was convinced his eight year old son, Takeshi could solve advanced mathematical problems if only he could relay the proper learning materials to Takeshi . He started developing worksheets specifically for Takeshi and guided his son closely over the following years. By the time his son was in primary six , Takeshi had already mastered integral and differential calculus just by spending 30 minutes a day on his worksheets.

Today, our activities are still guided by the attentiveness and parental love that Mr Toru Kumon demonstrated in his son. It is Mr Kumon's belief that we should develop every child's untapped abilities to pave way to more success in the future.

	By year 2014, we wish that everyone in all countries and regions in the world will have the opportunity to learn the Kumon Method. We hope that we will be able to develop their Mathematical abilities and comprehension as well as impart essential skills that lead to self-reliance and self-discovery. As a result, these children will strive when face with challenges in life, thus contribute to the society, and ultimately achieve world peace.
