The Chinese programme aims at encouraging students to read more and think even more, enhancing their reading skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. With their Chinese ability in general being improved, students are more ready to absorb new knowledge.

The Chinese programme provides training in Pinyin and Chinese characters, also in vocabulary, grammar, writing, reading and oral practising, etc. It helps students to grasp an abundance of vocabulary, increasing level of comprehension and possess analysing abilities.

The programme consists of 13 levels from level 5A to level I. Most levels consist of 200 worksheets.

Huge Amount of Vocabulary         • A huge amount of vocabulary is essential for an advanced level of reading comprehension. Hence, familiarise with the rhyming of the Chinese language. Tracing Simple Chinese Characters Students acquire the proper strokes in writing Chinese characters. Simple Vocabularies Students learn simple everyday words to express themselves and enhance their interest in the Chinese language. Besides, students' comprehension ability will also develop as they grasp the meaning of more words.       Simple Sentence Structure Students master the basic elements (such as subject, verb, object, complement, adverbial adjunct etc) in a sentence using the "sentence structure diagram". Reading Comprehension Students sharpen their reading comprehension skills by extracting main points and answering questions based on a given passage. Combining and Expanding Sentences Students learn to use modifiers when combining few sentences into one, and use the elements of expansion when converting a complex sentence into few simple sentences.       Vocabulary Building Students further build up their vocabulary through more exercises on Chinese characters. Thus this generates students' initiative to read and broaden their scope of knowledge. Summary Writing Students acquire the ability to critically judge and pick main points from a passage. Classical Chinese Reading Students acquire a greater comprehension ability through reading works of different genres, including classical Chinese, thus expanding their scope of knowledge.             Supplementary Learning Materials              To further enhance students' vocabulary,    supplementary tools such as flashcards and    CDs are used.
